Graduate Success at Trident Design
March 2011
A graduate from Leicester’s De Montfort University has secured a full time position at a leading graphic design and print company after successfully completing a one-year internship programme.
Rebecca Pye (23) applied through the University to gain valuable work experience and training with Hinckley-based Trident Design and Print after completing her Design Management and Innovation degree.
Having worked on a wide range of print and online design projects for a range of Trident’s clients including Weight Watchers, Hinckley Business Improvement District and MHRA, she has secured a permanent position within the graphic design team.
Rebecca explained: “I am over the moon that the internship has resulted in a full time job and relishing the challenges ahead of me.
“Having studied a wide range of creative mediums from photography to graphic design, I knew I wanted to pursue a career in the commercial world and the team at Trident have been incredibly supportive – giving me the space to learn and the opportunities to contribute to a wide range of campaigns for clients.
“It is certainly not easy to find a job after University but the internship programme organised by De Montfort University has opened this door for me and I am really excited about the future.”
Chris Burrage, who set up Trident Design and Print 22 years ago and has been based in Druid Street in the heart of the Hinckley regeneration area for the past three years, added: “Internship programmes are an excellent way of finding young talented designers such as Rebecca and then supporting them through the demanding requirements of agency life.
“In the ever changing world of marketing, it is vital that we continue to stay abreast of new technology, techniques and creative thinking and we recognise that fresh ideas are vital to our continued expansion and success.
“Rebecca has already proved to be a valuable member of the graphic design team and will be taking on more responsibility and ownership of client campaigns as her career progresses.”
